Job Summary

The Sr. Database Administrator is responsible for managing computer systems that store and organize data for companies. Their duties include creating and maintaining a relationship with customers, securing data and identifying areas for improvement with the infrastructure. They also provide secure access to databases and set up backup solutions to prevent data loss in case the system breaks down.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Grants access to databases
  • Helps build the structure and design of the database
  • Implements and manages security measures for data
  • Restores lost data
  • Builds test versions and testing for bugs
  • Ability to merge or join databases
  • Responsible for updating systems and creating data backups
  • Continually monitor database systems

Qualifications

  • Thorough understanding of computer systems
  • Ability to extract insight from large datasets
  • Thorough attention to detail
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Strong Problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong Interpersonal skills

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent work and education experience
  • 6+ years of hands-on database experience, preferably with MS SQL Server
  • Azure or AWS knowledge a plus

Systems & Technology

  • Proficient in SQL and NoSQL
  • Proficient in Oracle
  • Proficient in Database Management systems
